My love for film and acting began at a very young age. The first actor that I remember being captivated by was Michael J. Fox. I recall, sitting with my family, watching him as Marty McFly in Back to the Future and just being mesmerized. I was mesmerized by him and, of course, the Delorean Time Machine.
As a child growing up in a small town in New Jersey, never in my life did I think I would one day sit in the iconic car, which took Marty on his journey through time. However, the opportunity did present itself when I attended the “Dog & Funny Show” charity event, all thanks to Lenny Hochteil of 1.21 Gigawatt Guys. Lenny is the proud owner of a Delorean Time Machine. Before sitting in the car, I had the pleasure of speaking with him about how he purchased the car five years ago with the goal of doing events “to make everyone happy when they see the Delorean Time Machine roll up”. What a wonderful concept! I know he made one of my dreams come true as well as put smiles on a lot of faces that night.
Lenny and his family love Back to the Future, which is just one of two reasons he bought the car, the other was for his son who grew up in the 80’s and would make models of the film’s time machine. Lenny started by taking the car to birthday parties, but then the word got out and now his Delorean has been to many larger events such as numerous comic cons. This has led to him meeting most of the Back to the Future cast, including Claudia Wells (Jennifer Parker) and Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson) who also attended “The Dog & Funny Show” charity event that night. Check out the video below to watch my full interview with Lenny Hochteil.
